The Office of Inclusive Excellence supports a campus culture that honors the diversity of student, staff, faculty, and administrative voices and perspectives at Penn State Abington. In collaboration across units on campus, including the Division of Student Affairs and its student-focused ODEI initiatives, Continuing Education, Alumni Relations, Human Resources, and the Finance Office, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence attends to:
- professional development for faculty and staff that prioritizes inclusivity and intercultural learning for educational stakeholders across the campus;
- opportunities to develop and maintain partnerships with diverse institutions, programs, and community groups that align with nationally recognized DEI competencies;
- equity-minded hiring, promotion, and retention practices for faculty and staff;
- the need for diverse representation in and across the curriculum;
- the evaluation and modification of policies and practices that create barriers to student and institutional effectiveness;
- increasing and providing accessible global learning and teaching opportunities;
- the advancement of accessibility, DEI, and wellness initiatives
